The itinerary Opportunities for Entrepreneurs in Sustainable Construction     Applying Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) offers a unique opportunity to explore innovative business models in sustainable construction using Nature Based Solutions techniques. You will learn the fundamental principles of NBS, discover their different types and applications, and evaluate business opportunities in this growing sector.

The course emphasizes the integration of circular economy principles, sustainable materials, and emerging technologies in NBS projects, while fostering a comprehensive understanding of sustainability across environmental, social, and economic dimensions.

You’ll also gain knowledge of relevant policies and legal frameworks and develop communication skills to effectively promote NBS benefits.

Employment Itinerary

Energy Advisor

The itinerary for the position of ‘energy advisor’ will take place online and at the UPM facilities in Madrid, and will be taught by Leire Díez and Marcos Boj, specialists in energy efficiency, energy advice, energy poverty, self-consumption projects and energy communities in the area of Energy and People of the Fundación Ecología y Desarrollo (ECODES).

Energy advisors help households optimize energy consumption, navigate government incentives and regulations, implement renewable self-consumption and energy communities, and enhance energy efficiency through home retrofitting.

The demand for energy advisors for households in the green sector is driven by several key factors: the rising environmental awareness among consumers who seek to reduce their carbon footprint and live more sustainably; the growing need for economic savings and the technical complexity of managing energy resources.

Employment Itinerary

Solar (PV) Systems Installer

The training itinerary for the position of ‘installer of photovoltaic systems’ will be carried out online and at the facilities of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and will be given by Lorenzo Olivieri, associate professor at UPM, mechanical engineer, master’s degree in photovoltaic solar energy, master’s degree in renewable energy, fuel cells and hydrogen, and PhD in photovoltaic solar energy.

The role of a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems Installer is highly innovative and impactful in promoting sustainability.
